Marisa Aragón Ware is a multidisciplinary fine artist, illustrator, author, and educator whose work explores biodiversity, ecology and the systems that sustain both humans and the natural world. Born and raised in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, she uses paper sculpture, cyanotype, and illustration to create intricate visual narratives inspired by biodiversity and the interdependence that support ecosystems and life on this planet. Her work is deeply influenced by the theory of biophilia—the idea that humans possess an innate psychological and spiritual connection to nature—and seeks to communicate wonder, exploration, and stewardship through symbolic and narrative forms.

Her illustration clients include Disney, Mattel, Penguin Random House, Simon and Schuster, Sterling Brands, and Harper Collins. She received her MFA from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, and currently teaches in the Drawing and Painting Department at the University of Colorado.
